Welcome to Tweeny room where the children are aged between 2 – 3 years. Three full time members of staff provide excellent care and fun filled activities for each child.

Settling In

To enable a smooth settling in to Tweeny room we encourage children and their parents to attend two ‘taster’ sessions for them to meet the staff and children. We also ask you to fill in a Routine Form allowing us to follow your child’s individual routine.

In Tweeny Room we follow the Early Years Foundation Stage framework. All our planning and the children’s learning journey are related to the EYFS, which helps us provide activities covering all aspects of learning.

Time for Two's

Some 2 year old's in Dudley may be able to get up to 15 hours free childcare. Why not see if you are eligible? Check out the link Time for Two's.

We provide breakfast, which is a choice of Porridge, Weetabix or Rice Crispies and toast. Mid morning we have a snack which is a selection of fruit, and is served café style. At lunchtime the children have a two course meal which is brought in from a local catering company . We also have a break in the afternoon, with is either a cold or warm snack and a choice of yoghurt or fruit. The children have a choice of water, milk or juice with each meal. During the day the children have their own sports bottles which are on a low level shelf for them to access at any time.

At sleep time we have low level beds for the children who sleep. Each child has a drawstring bag with a set of sheets clearly labelled on their own peg. We follow each child’s individual routine and give them a comforter if they have one and either rock them to sleep or lie them on a bed.

Extra Activities

A dance teacher comes to nursery for movement and dance to different songs. Staff reinforce musical activities throughout the week.

Tweeny room is split into different areas which are: Creative, messy play, quiet/book area, home corner and computer corner. The children move freely around the different areas.

Partnership With Parents

A daily routine sheet is filled in for each child daily, specifying meals, toileting/nappy changes, sleep times and activities. This is given to you when collecting your child and any other information will be shared with you at this time. Each year we have a parent’s evening, where you can look through your child’s learning journey and speak to their keyworker. Every two months we send out a newsletter letting parents know of any special days or important information. We also ask you to complete “Parent’s Voice” forms letting us know what your child’s interest are and if they did anything special at the weekend so that we can plan activities around those interests.

At Carousel we complete a 2 year development check the term after your child's second birthday. We give give you the opportunity to meet with your child's key worker to discuss development and achievements and complete a written report.
